Splitting sytems

Wire-to-wire type splitters
Function: input/output concentrator
Advantages:
- local connection of sensors or pre-actuators
- simplified wiring and maintenance operations
- possibility of LED status indication
Programmable splitters
Function: input concentrator, providing local pre-processing (in the form of logic functions) of signals from all types of sensors.
Advantages:
- local pre-processing of information
- reduction in the number of inputs to be handled by the PLC
- reduced wiring costs
- possibility of carrying out specific logic functions and coupling several splitters together
- LED status indication
- numerous logic functions available, and any other logic function can be provided on request
Programmable splitters
Function: input concentrator, providing local pre-processing (in the form of logic functions) of signals from all types of sensors.
Advantages:
- local pre-processing of information
- reduction in the number of inputs to be handled by the PLC
- reduced wiring costs
PROGRESS programmable splitter
Function: stand-alone module allowing small small automated functions (programmable by the user) to be provided locally and without a connection box
Advantages:
- local input/output processing
- “zero cabinet” concept
- reduced wiring costs (M12 receptacles allowing direct connection of sensors and actuators)
- extension modules available (able to handle up to 48 inputs/outputs)
- programming by RS232 serial link
- numerous functions available
- programming in a Windows® environment (Hyperterminal) • removable “PROGMEM” memory cartridge providing backup and programme updating
